In Passing: Leave Memories (“In Passing”) is developed and provided by Dharshan Bellie, based in India.

Personal places and content

Personal places store your photos, videos, audio recordings, notes, place names, descriptions and associated location information locally within the app on your device.

Personal content is not automatically shared with other users or uploaded through an app-managed media-sync service. Your device’s backup settings may allow Apple backups to include app data.

In Passing does not provide its own backup or recovery service for Personal content. Deleting the app, losing your device or deleting content may result in permanent loss. Restoring a purchase restores paid access, not deleted content.

Shared places

Shared lets you create a private place with one invited participant. Shared currently supports photos and optional accompanying messages. It does not provide a public feed or public content discovery.

Shared uses Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services. Shared records are stored in the owner’s private CloudKit database and made available to the invited participant through Apple’s sharing system.

These records include Shared photos, accompanying messages, place names, fixed destination coordinates, appearance settings, contribution timestamps, author and participant identifiers, and technical records needed to manage access, saving and recovery. Content may also be downloaded and stored locally on participating devices.

Creating or joining a Shared place requires an available iCloud account and eligibility for the feature. We do not receive your Apple Account password.

The app does not maintain a developer-readable public copy of Shared content or upload that content to a separate developer-operated content server. We cannot browse users’ private CloudKit content through the app’s developer administration tools.

Shared participants can view content according to the app’s access rules. A participant who can view content may capture or retain a copy, including through screenshots or screen recordings.

Invitations and participant information

When you invite someone using an email address or phone number, the app sends that information to Apple’s CloudKit participant-lookup service.

A place-specific hash derived from the invitation address or number is retained to support invitation management. Hashing does not make this information anonymous.

CloudKit account and participant identifiers are used to manage ownership and sharing permissions. The app does not upload your entire address book. Friend labels stored only on your device are not sent to RevenueCat.

Location and permissions

In Passing uses your location to create places and determine whether you are nearby enough to open their content.
